One of the largest gold producing mining organisations manages multiple data types and locations
A global mining corporation based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA, is one of the world's largest producers of gold, with active mines in Nevada, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Ghana and Peru.
Following the successful implementation and use of our systems at the part Newmont-owned Kalgoorlie consolidated Gold Mines’ (KCGM) Superpit operation in 2006, Newmont elected to roll out the MonitorPro - Desktop system to its Asia Pacific region the following year. This consists today of four mine sites at Superpit (KCGM), the Jundee Operation, The Boddington Operation—all in Western Australia, and the Waihi Operation in New Zealand.

MonitorPro - Desktop is managing multiple data types for each location which includes groundwater, dust, weather, noise, surface water, energy and a host of particular variables. During the operational phase at Jundee the company neededs to collect the following data quarterly:
- Groundwater data
- Surface water data
- Land data
- Air data
- Levels of hydrocarbons in washbays
All of which is managed in MonitorPro - Desktop.
Newmont's Boddington site is using MonitorPro - Desktop's capabilities to manage high resolution data to the full. Their 5 second blasting and vibration data, 15 minute weather and 10 minute air quality data are all managed through the same MonitorPro - Desktop interface, with custom regulatory and compliance reports being automatically generated.
Specifically, a database for blasting data has been created which has included setting up a monthly report, compliance targets and creating a mechanism to import handheld data and that from noise monitoring stations. A number of other specific databases have also been set up for Boddington which includes an air-quality database which included weather data and the set-up of particular reports, an environment database and a separate weather database in addition.
