Air Quality data management solution
Why monitor air quality?
Where there is the potential for an organisation to pollute the air, there are usually strict obligations requiring regular monitoring and reporting.
Examples of air quality data include:
- Dust and particulates
- Vehicle emissions
- Factory emissions
- Refinery / power plant emissions
- Building material emissions
- Chemical usage emissions
Permits require the planning, collection, validation and reporting of air quality data. Usually differentials are built into the programme both in terms of time and location. This helps determine if the operations have had an effect over time. Monitoring upwind/downwind of the site helps determine the source of any pollution.
Why it’s not easy
Some air quality data collection can be automated, for example stack flow and particulate. This data can be automatically delivered. Other air quality data is by the collection of samples. Technicians need to know where they need to go and what types of measurements and samples they need to collect and send to laboratories (sometimes with anonymised locations). Data Managers need to ensure that the laboratory returns the correct sample data on time, and reconcile with the true location.
Validation is required to ensure compliance limits are not being breached, that the data is correct for the location by considering other readings previously measured at the same location.
Calculations are often needed, for example dust filters left for 28 days need an average deposit per day.
The whole data set for a site needs to be collated, formatted and reported at pre-set periods.
MonitorPro has a comprehensive sample planning system to notify what data needs collecting, where. Technicians can download the visit to their device, which will guide them to the location in the field and validate data as they enter it. Samples are tracked and alerts sent if the data does not arrive when it should. Simple traffic light indicators show progress.
Interpretation and reporting can only be as good as the data it is based on. Rubbish in, rubbish out is a major problem with manual systems. MonitorPro is designed to avoid this. All data is checked against the plan validated and protected by layers of security, minimising the risk of reporting incorrect data.
MonitorPro can manage just about all Environmental Compliance data in a single, central, consistent database.
Convenience and Automation
The whole process of checking the plan, automatically importing from multiple sources, validation and reporting can be fully automated, same time and increasing data quality.
Interpretation and reporting
A large array of interpretation tools help to rapidly combine and analyse data sets. Every organisation needs different reports. A range of default reports are provided which can be edited as needed. We also provide a professional report editing service. Reports can be run at the click of a mouse or scheduled to automatically email.
